Hormonal Contraception:Combined Oral Contraceptives. Immunosuppressants:Calcineurin Inhibitors, Ciclosporin, Tacrolimus. Antidepressants – MAOIs, TCAs, SSRIs, Mirtazapine, Vnlafaxine. Opioids – Tamadol, Pthidine. CNS stimulants – Pentermine, Dethylpropion, Aphetamines, Sbutramine. 5-HT1 agonists – Tiptans. Illicit drugs – Mthylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), Lsergic Aid Dethylamide (LSD), Cocaine. Others – 5-HTP, Buspirone, Dextromethorphan, Linezolid, Lithium, Selegiline, Tryptophan (Reference: Rossi, 2005).
-St. John’s Wort may also contribute to serotonin syndrome in combination with other drugs which may elevate 5-HT (serotonin) levels in the central nervous system (CNS).
-Gingko Biloba, Rising Star or Iron and St. John’s Wort should be separately administered, one to two hours apart.
